360.0. "URGENT - FOAM SHOP REQUIRED" by HAMPS::BRISTOW_M () Mon Oct 01 1990 13:17

I am renovating four dining rooms chairs at the moment and desperately
need to buy some foam for the seating (about 1.5 inch deep), does
anyone know where I can hold of some?

I have tried the shop in Reading on the Oxford Road and its too thick
and the shop that used to be in Basingstoke closed about 2 years ago!

This is urgent as I have people coming around on Friday!!

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Mel

If you get really desperate...there is a stall in the market in the Brunel
Shopping Center in Swindon that does all sorts of sizes of foam pads.

Most markets of a reasonable size seem to have stalls which sell foam
padding, try the market behind the bus station in Basingstoke on
    wednesday.

Fleet Fabrics, just off the main shopping street in Fleet stock
upholstery foam. If you want, call me and I will give you directions.

personally , I would be careful when buying foam....not just get the
"cheap stuff" from a market...It may be worth buying the dearer foam
that is "fire resitant" the type that manufacture's use....

incase of an unfortunate event occuring , you may have wished you
hadn't bought cheap to buy dear , as the toxic fumes and temperatures
given off by normal foams bought could seriously damage your health !

I was interested in your note asking for foam suppliers. Personally, I
    prefer a cane chair myself!
