348.0. "Dougie Nisbet Is Leaving!!!" by BURTON::WILTSHIRE () Thu Sep 13 1990 10:36

People of the Basingstoke Notesfile,

As you may or may not have heard Dougie Nisbet is leaving to continue his ????
(whatever he was doing before he arrived here) and seeing as dougie is/was a
prolific noter (or something else ending in "er" but not starting with "not") I
thought a small note dedicated to his epitaph's which would sum up the person
that we have all now come to know as ..."dougie".

Dougie was the founder of that riveting note about hedgehogs and other garden
animals which I'm sure you will all agree kept us in suspense each day until
he would enter another reply updating us on the situation. Things sure were
tense around here in those days.

So come on, even if you have never even heard of him, lets see what interesting
epitaphs we can find for him.

I myself will steal one from andrew moore and say in summary that in dougie

	"Here was a man not afraid to buy his own newspapers!"

cheers

	Jolly decent sort of _what_? Perhaps it's a typo and should be

		I thought he was a jolly decent suit.
		I thought he was a jelly decent sweet.
		I thought he was a jelly dement site.
		I thought he was a jolly decent for a Scot.

	Most probably though it is
		I thought he was a ..\jolly\decent\sort

348.11Dougie Nisbet Can Do No WrongDRILL::GODThe AlmightyThu Sep 13 1990 18:4813
Yeah! I know Dougie. Dougie and me go way back.

Started of when he used to tell that Geoff Shingles a thing or two, then
his agency called me and asked if I could do with some of his help.
Well, naturally I leapt at the chance. He taught me how to get my
Notesreader to auto-wrap so that Nigel Barker wouldn't get cross, and
the best way to get an F15 of yer tail.

He's a mean dude and no mistake. A real professional. He wouldn't dream
of abusing his position by setting up false accounts like what some
people do. A real gem.

I'm off again. (Cue Hezeltanian sound effects of man ripping microphone from
lapel).

I'm 'Let Go' at the end of this month. So I'll be an ex-DECCIE once again. I'm
not sure I'm happy about the term 'let go' - it makes me sound like a bad case
of flatulence ("I'm sorry, I let one go there").

All good wishes to those people I knew in Basingstoke, and a quick bye bye to
everyone else who knows me, and please look after the hedghogs.

If you want me;
