346.0. "Marble or slate required !!" by COMICS::MILLAR (No Porn please I'm Graphic) Thu Sep 06 1990 13:13

    Hi

    I am looking for a peice of slate or marble that I can make a shelf out
    off. The shelf is for the bottom of the bath. So something that is
    large enough to cover the width of a normal size bath (not the length).

    I know that stone masons would do this but I have seen their prices,
    and wondered if anybody might have something lying aroud that they
    want to get rid of.

    Yours (drips on the bathroom floor) Bruce

346.1I might be able to help...CHEST::WHITTINGTONWhite RhinoFri Sep 07 1990 11:2710
    I might be able to help. I had a very large marble slab (about 1"
    thick) a while ago and held on to it even though my other half kept
    refusing to let me make a work surface out of it for the kitchen.
    Marble makes a wonderful preparation surface as it is easy-clean and
    stays cold (great fro rolling patry if it stays cold!)

    I shall have a look for it. Remind me again if you hear nothing for a
    few days.
