341.0. "chips with everything" by KERNEL::ROE (3.16 - know what I mean, John?) Wed Aug 29 1990 11:53

Can anyone offer me advice on how to disguise a chip in a white enamel bath?
(I've already tried putting fish in the bath, but they wouldn't stay over the
chip!)

There used to be kits for repainting whole baths, and I was hoping to find a
smaller quantity of that material, but it seems that nobody stocks anything
like it now. I've tried Homebase and Bounty Plumbing Supplies in Basingstoke.
If all else fails, I was thinking of getting Humbrol enamel paint from a model
shop. Has anyone tried that?

Thanks for any advice....

Mike,

Have you tried those self-stick things that are meant to stop you
	sliding around under the shower.

They come in feet shape, flower shape, butterfly shape, and even
	fish-shape!

I have seen touch-up paint for baths and fridges etc, but can't
remember where. If its available, Bakers in Fleet will stock it, cos
they stock everything you can think of in the hardware line. They have
never been known to fail; if you go in there, they will probably ask
what make of bath so they can match the colour, and then which of eight
    sizes of pack.

Another possibility is JOY enamel touch up paint (no kidding).
I remember getting some from Woolies a few years ago to fill some
    chips on a cooker.

What about good old HAMMERITE ?

If I remember right their smooth white one was recommended for cookers
    etc.

    Mike,

I know it's a bit late but the hardware shop on Buckland Parade (off
the Homebase end of Pack Lane) will undoubtably sell the sort of thing
you're looking for. That shop is for ironmongery afficionado's.
