332.0. "WANTED - Cheap Hi-Fi" by LARVAE::BARKER (Do not fold, spindle or mutilate) Wed Aug 01 1990 10:54

I've already asked this in a couple of other Notes conferences and it's
met with a resounding thud. It occurred to me that the vast readership of
BASINGSTOKE might be able to help me out.

I've just bought a fab new guitar & synthesiser and am getting fed up
with plugging it in & out of my hi-fi in order to hear the full stereo noises
that it generates.

Has anyone got an old unwanted free or cheap stereo amplifier (ideally
with speakers) that they would like to part with. I won't be gigging it so it
doesn't need to be very high powered or robust.

    Nigel,

If you get the amp, and need speakers, I have my old ones which you can
have for a modest and negotiable consideration.

No cabinets; just a baffle board with Goodmans Trebax and Midax treble
& mid range, and 12" Fane bass, controlled by a Richard Allan
    crossover. Times two, of course.

    Hello,

I have a NAD 3020 which has something wrong with it - small blue
flash resulted in loss of sound - but still works re recording etc.

    5 pounds ?

Re .2

Thanks but I have just bought a 50W/channel Pioneer amplifier and a
pair of Solavox 25W speakers.

I realise that there is a potential mismatch here so may still be in
the market for some cheap rugged speakers so I can play at full volume.

Nigel

BTW Those NAD amps are reckoned to be pretty OK aren't they, might be worth
getting a quote for repair.
