311.0. "DJ for a Posh Do" by HAMPS::ADNITT_N (Nick Adnitt) Tue Jun 12 1990 10:08

Does anyone know where I can hire a dinner jacket in Basingstoke?

I haven't seen a Moss Bros or similar on my travels.

    here's hoping.....

Try Chesterfields at the top end of town - near the Halifax Building
    society.

There is a very fine quality hire shop in Marlow (sorry I am not
too sure of the name but Marlow is only small) Reading also has
a place near to Friars walk in Reading again not sure of the name
or if it hires , but I know it does dinner jackets as my brother
got his there for when he went into the R.A.F as a pilot officer
, so he had to have the best...so quality is guarenteed if they
    do...sorry I havn't been too much help..

The place in Marlow is called Jolliffes. They are very good.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I did actually find a place in
Basingstoke opposite the Post Office where you can get more sarcasm
and abuse than even in this notes topic!!

Its called Butlers and they have a large range of DJ's and Morning
    suits.

Deposite is 50 quid (good job I'm rich) plus 32.50 for DJ, strides,
dickie bow and cumerbund, and they didn't even measure my inside
    leg!

Shame on the noters/exfriends!! that don't read the Queen's Birthday
Honours list.............I'm not actually on it but I was first
reserve, I'll have to use the DJ for something else.
