298.1Room to let in Kempshott shared house (TAKEN - sorry)TASTY::NISBETObviously a major malfunctionMon Sep 03 1990 12:1845
I'm leaving Digital imminently and therefore also my digs. I don't have any
vested interest in this - its just a favour for my soon to be ex-housemates.

ROOM TO LET in Kempshott. 140 quid/month + bills. A moderately scruffy house
with two other professional blokes. Friendly atmosphere, albeit a bit too
much golf talk for my liking.

Mike the cool person works for the council. Very laid back and easy going. In
stark juxta-position to Steve who works for Smiths Crisps/Industries. He is
obssessed with golf and running about being uptight and angst-ridden. but apart
from that he's fine. He's even stopped practicing his golf swing in the middle
of the living room when I'm trying to watch telly.

There's a nice local cat which we imaginitively called Ginger. He doesn't like
smimmed milk. There's a big back garden which is sunny when the sun comes out,
and you can always persuade Steve to swing his club somewhere else. Like his
bedroom. Which he does.

Er,

Colour telly. Video.

um,

Telephone. No shower. There's a bath though. But you'd expect that. The hot
tap in the handbasin doesn't work at the moment, which is really annoying.
We've tried changing the washer but that doesn't fix it. There's a water
filter jug thing. That was my idea. Stops getting gritty bits in your
tea, you know. (see 294.*)

And the wildlife! Boy ohboyohboy. There's the housemartins - but I think
they've gone bye byes. And Henry Hedgehog. See
310.* for a full description
of the rich and diverse nature reserve which is 46 Aster Road.

I'd live there if I wasn't leaving. Even if there are golf clubs all over the
place.

or contact Mike (or me or Steve) in the evening on 468089.

I'm leaving in a couple of weeks. I'll even Hoover the room before I go.
I'm nice that way. Probably entrance around 17 Sept. I'll have to ask Mike
cos he's got the contract.
