    For this years Children In Need Appeal on Friday 17th November,
    the local BBC TV station is setting up its base in Alton, in the
    Car Park of the Railway Station. Many of the marathon type events
    (Bike riding, bath pushing etc) will be ending their efforts here.
    
    For those wishing to come an watch and join in, the suggestion is
    that you arrive by train, either BR (from the London direction)
    or the Mid Hants Railway (from the Alresford direction).
    
    In support of this event, the Mid Hants Railway will be running
    an hourly train service between Alresford and Alton from 11:00 in
    the morning until 01:00 the following morning, all profits for the
    day being donated to Children In Need.
    
    So if you want to watch the action, support the event and not have
    to sit and watch Terry Wogan on the box, why not drive to Alresford
    and go to Alton in style.
