217.0. "Belgium beer trip" by CURRNT::TPERKINS (Don't Panic ) Mon Sep 18 1989 19:33

			BELGIUM BEER FESTIVAL
			---------------------

There are still some seats available on the Belgium beer
festival weekend.

	WHEN?? -	6th October to 8th October.

	HOW MUCH??	-	50 pounds

WHAT HAPPENS??	-	The price includes two full nights in
a hotel, with breakfast, a day in Lille,
a day in Brugge, and Saturday night at
				the 1989 Flemish beer festival.

This is a great way to meet other Digits in Basingstoke (or in
your own building?), and spending a reviving weekend away.

The logistics of the trip will be :-

(all times are approximate)

Friday 17.30	- Leave Basingstoke on a luxury coach, arriving at
Dover for an evening ferry crossing we should arrive at our hotel in
Lille at about 01.30.

Saturday ????	- The day is free for you to wander around Lille, and
enjoy the French cuisine and wine, or sleep off your hangover.

There is a hypermarket a couple of hundred yards from the
hotel for those who want to start stocking up for Christmas??!! The
coach will probably be able to arrange a set time for picking people
up from the hypermarket, depending on parking arrangements.

Saturday 17.00	- We all head off to the flanders town of Diksmuide for
the 1989 FLEMISH BEER FESTIVAL, one of the best, and friendliest beer
festivals in Europe. We leave the festival around midnight and head
(singing?) back to the hotel.

Sunday 10.00	- Before heading home we spend about four and half
hours in the picturesque town of Brugge. Time to have lunch, and walk
off the night before. Buy some hand made chocolates, or get a pony &
trap tour of the town.

Sunday 16.00	- Leaving Brugge for the afternoon ferry then back to
Basingstoke, arriving home around 11.00 pm.

As you can see this is not a 'lager louts' weekend, but a very
good (but tiring) weekend away from the office, you certainly will
feel that you have made the most of the time.

The places are on a first come first serve basis, non
refundable deposit of 25 pounds per person (S&SC member + first guest)
is required before your place is reserved. The full cost of 50 pounds
per person is required by 22nd September. Other guests are welcome at
the full price of 58 pounds per person.

If you are looking for a great value for money weekend, please
let me know by mailing me on....

		FOOT::TPERKINS or Tony Perkins @UCG

Follow this up quickly with the full payment.

Could you include your name, badge number, building and
places required, along with your cheque made payable to the Crescent
Sports and Social club ..... leave at reception or post in internal mail.
