    	People to join me in looking for a house to rent in the
        Basingstoke/Reading area.

    o are you new to the area

    o wanting the freedom of sharing a house without a resident landlord

    o wanting to share a house with some youngish people

    o want to save money by *renting* in bulk (whole house v rooms)

    then group together and maybe 3 or 4 of us can rent a house together.

    I work at Viables and don't mind living in Basingstoke but somewhere
    on the fringes or southern Reading seems more interesting (Fleet,
    Tadley, Odiham, Theale).

    Call or mail me, if you are interested !

58.123-Bedroomed House to LetINBLUE::HALDANETypos to the TradeTue Jul 25 1989 14:0784
        3-bedroomed, modern, semi-detatched house on the edge of the
        attractive rural village of Dunsfold, Surrey.

        Dunsfold, which is 4 miles from Cranleigh and 5 miles from
        Godalming, is noted for its large open commons, many period houses
        and 14th century church. The village has a post office/general
        store, two (real ale) pubs (both with restaurants) near the cricket
        ground, a primary school and a recreation ground with tennis
        courts.

        There are bus services to Cranleigh and Godalming, both of which
        have reasonable shopping facilities. Guilford (about 20 minutes
        drive, I think) and Godalming both have main-line railway stations
        with services to Waterloo (38 minutes from Godalming, according to
        the estate agent). The M25 is about 30 minutes drive. I would
        guess that Basingstoke is about 40 minutes drive via Farnham and
        Odiham. I won't hazard a guess about the travelling time to
        Reading or Newbury. (When I lived there, before I joined DEC, I
        worked in Camberley and took about 40 minutes to get to work.)

	The house is in a crescent at the north end of the village, and
	backs onto fields, with pleasant views.

        The accommodation (with room dimensions from agent's blurb)
        consists of:

	GROUND FLOOR

	Tile-hung porch with front door to hallway; rear door to garden.
	Cloakroom with WC and washbasin. Understairs space (housing a desk
	and chair); lounge (13'5" x 11'8"); large kitchen/dining room
	(13'5" x 11'6").

	FIRST FLOOR

	Bedroom 1 (13'6" x 11'6") - with double bed;
	Bedroom 2 (11'6" x 10'5") - with single bed;
	Bedroom 3 (9'0"  x  9'0") - with single bed;
	Bathroom: panelled bath with shower, WC, washbasin.

	OUTSIDE

        L-shaped garden, brick-built shed adjoining house, gate to car park
        (with private parking space for one car).

	HEATING etc.

        Heating is provided by a large storage heater that runs on Ecomomy
        7 power and circulates warm air to vents around the house.

        Water is also heated by Economy 7 power and stored in a well
        insulated 40-gallon tank in the airing cupboard.

	The house has cavity-wall and loft insulation.

	Cooking is by propane gas, with twin, automatic-changeover
	cylinders outside. (A guage shows when one cylinder is empty.)
	The hire charge for the cylinders is paid - you pay only for the
	gas, which can be delivered and connected while you are out.

	FURNITURE and EQUIPMENT

        The house is fully furnished and equipped for four people, with
        crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, duvets etc. (but no linen)
        provided. Equipment includes fridge, freezer, cooker, washing
        machine, colour TV, vacuum cleaner, electric (hover) lawn mower,
        garden tools. There is a phenominal amount of cupboard space.

	AVAILABILITY

	The present tenants are moving at the end of August because they
	are buying a house.

	I'm a local hire in Valbonne, so the house is available for a long
	let.

	RENT

	Includes general and water rates: 450 per calendar month

58.273-Bedroomed House to LetTAEC::HALDANEJust missed Godot...Tue Mar 10 1992 12:0288
	My house in Dunsfold (Surrey) is available to rent. It's in a
	quiet location, not too far from Basingstoke, and is ideal for
	those who want to get away from the bright lights (!!!) after a
	hard day's work in the throbbing city...

	Details, mostly from the estate agent's blurb, follow the form
	feed:

	3-bedroomed, fully furnished, modern, semi-detatched house on the
	edge of the attractive rural village of Dunsfold, Surrey.

58.28KERNEL::GRAYJIn need of a lodger....Thu Jun 11 1992 19:2719

I'm looking for a lodger for my large spare bedroom. It's a nice airy room
with a decent double bed in it.

The house is in Chineham with lots of the essential stuff very close by (pub,
off-licence, chemist, 7-11 type store, tesco's shopping centre) and it's a
nice area to boot.

The house has the standard stuff (washing machine, tumble dryer, tv, cute cat,
garden, built-in BBQ, garden, roof, walls etc etc) .......... ...and all
for around 50/60/week (well negotiable to a DECcie) including everything but
the phone, of course, (which is easy to sort out anyway since it's itemised).

		Interested??

Call Jo on (7833) 3769 or (0256) 21623
or if you're in Viables drop by the Unix group and find me.

I'm also looking for a lodger for my large spare room. The room
is fully furnished including a very good new double bed, linen etc -
but we can subtract anything you don't require.

The location is fairly rural - in the hamlet of Ramsdell, about 6 miles
north-west of Basingstoke (and approx 13 miles each from Newbury and Reading).
It is a 15 minute drive to Basingstoke town centre.

You would be sharing with myself (currently a contractor at Solent), my
other half, his 16 year old son, and 3 cats. (well, 6 at the moment, but 3
of the 4 kittens are about to be re-homed).

The house has all the usual mod cons, off street parking/garage and a
lovely garden.

300 pcm (negotiable) includes everything except the phone

If you're interested, give me a call and we'll meet up one evening -
