54.0. "BANKS (for the memory)!" by 45417::BATEMAN (Sic biscuitus disintegrat) Mon Oct 31 1988 16:34

    Does anyone know if there is a Co-operative bank in Basingstoke?
    I believe that sometimes a Co-op store has a bank inside. Is this
    the case for any Co-op store in Basingstoke ?

    Thanks,

    Chris.

    There is a fairly new branch of the Co-op Bank opposite the site of the
    old Co-op store - it's where all the other building society offices
    are ( Leeds Permanent,Abbey National etc) but I can't remember the
    name of the alley.

On the subject of banks...

In case anyone occasionaly uses the Barclays branch at Brighton Hill, July 17th
is your last chance. After then, I think the only Barclays in down is the one
next to McDonalds.

54.4Desperate for CashNEWOA::SCORE_RNihil Illegitimi CarborundumThu Oct 29 1992 14:188

    My daughter is desperate for cash - she banks with Lloyds but the only
    cashpoint we know is in the town centre, difficult for her to get to.

    Anyone know of any others, excluding Sainbury's at Kempshott (also too far
    away)? Barclay's or Bank of Scotland cashpoints will do just as well.

    	She could go to ANY M+W store, and get cash, with a cheque card.
    They do charge for this. Can't remember how much..

54.8IS IT LINK?WARNUT::WARNUT::NISBETD[email protected]Tue Nov 10 1992 10:165
Check the card to see if it has the LINK symbol. I have Bank of Scotland
Keycard - not one of the posh ones with Switch - but it does have the Link
symbol. This means I can use a lot of building society machines.
