         on foot. Please recommend me a hotel near the office.

         Thanks in advance,

    The Hilton Lodge ( formerly the Ladbroke Lodge ) is probably the
    nearest, about 10 minutes Walk, I guess. Telephone 0256-460460.
41.2Drop the Leading ZERO if outside the UKHAMPS::NOBLETue Oct 04 1988 10:227

    	If you are dialing from OUTSIDE the UK, then the number is
    	44-256-460460

    	Where 44 = UK
             256 = Basingstoke
          460460 = Hotel Number
41.3I need more important informationTKOV04::TAKEDAMasahiro Takeda AI Training TokyoTue Oct 04 1988 11:0011
              Thank you very much for quick response. But I found out
         more important thing.

              I don't know how I can go to the basingstoke from the
         Heathrow airport.

              Would you please let me know how to get to the office
         and how long does it take.

         Thank you
         Masahiro
41.4Not much help...SHAPES::STREETRWell,Well! 2 holes in the groundTue Oct 04 1988 11:197
     Well, a car is best, but you may not want to drive on the
    wrong side of the road.... it would take under an hour though.

     Snamprogetti House is not far from the railway station. However
    it is not easy getting from Heathrow to Basingstoke by train.

     Can anyone offer a solution?
41.5Travel IntercityKERNEL::DARCYTue Oct 04 1988 11:2511
    yep,
        There is a bus running from Heathrow to Basingstoke every 2
    hours daily. It will cost you about 7 pounds for a return ticket.
    The bus is an intercity coach and you can board the coach from the
    Heathrow central bus station. The coach will leave you in the bus
    station in the centre of Basingstoke and the journey will take about
    1 hour.

    Hope this helps

41.6My recommendation for Rotherwick.LARVAE::JEFFERYEven the white bits are blackTue Oct 04 1988 12:3214

    If you are getting a hire car. I can definitely recommend Tylney
    Hall, Whilst it sounds posh it is only just more expensive than
    the Hiltons, and far far better!

    The service is incredible, the food fantastic, and the rooms spacious
    and beautifully appointed.

    Go for it!!

    Cheers.

    Mark.
41.7Another option!FOOT::RUSSELLI've never seen it do *that* before!Tue Oct 04 1988 14:178

    you could also get the "Railair" coach link from Heathrow to
    Reading (every 30 minutes), and then the train from Reading to
    Basignstoke...

    Peter.

41.8Railair coach to Woking, then trainJANUS::BARKERTue Oct 04 1988 14:237
Even better, get the Railair coach from Heathrow to Woking and then the train to
Basingstoke. Unfortunately I don't have the times to hand.

Also someone made a mistake a few notes back. Japan drives on the left just
like we do in the UK.
