| The Hilton Lodge ( formerly the Ladbroke Lodge ) is probably the
nearest, about 10 minutes Walk, I guess. Telephone 0256-460460.

Would you please let me know how to get to the office
and how long does it take.
Thank you

41.4 | Not much help... | SHAPES::STREETR | Well,Well! 2 holes in the ground | Tue Oct 04 1988 11:19 | 7 |
| Well, a car is best, but you may not want to drive on the
wrong side of the road.... it would take under an hour though.
Snamprogetti House is not far from the railway station. However
it is not easy getting from Heathrow to Basingstoke by train.
Can anyone offer a solution?

41.5 | Travel Intercity | KERNEL::DARCY | | Tue Oct 04 1988 11:25 | 11 |
| yep,
There is a bus running from Heathrow to Basingstoke every 2
hours daily. It will cost you about 7 pounds for a return ticket.
The bus is an intercity coach and you can board the coach from the
Heathrow central bus station. The coach will leave you in the bus
station in the centre of Basingstoke and the journey will take about
1 hour.
Hope this helps

41.6 | My recommendation for Rotherwick. | LARVAE::JEFFERY | Even the white bits are black | Tue Oct 04 1988 12:32 | 14 |

If you are getting a hire car. I can definitely recommend Tylney
Hall, Whilst it sounds posh it is only just more expensive than
the Hiltons, and far far better!
The service is incredible, the food fantastic, and the rooms spacious
and beautifully appointed.
Go for it!!
Cheers.
Mark.

41.7 | Another option! | FOOT::RUSSELL | I've never seen it do *that* before! | Tue Oct 04 1988 14:17 | 8 |
| re .5
you could also get the "Railair" coach link from Heathrow to
Reading (every 30 minutes), and then the train from Reading to
Basignstoke...
Peter.

41.8 | Railair coach to Woking, then train | JANUS::BARKER | | Tue Oct 04 1988 14:23 | 7 |
| Even better, get the Railair coach from Heathrow to Woking and then the train to
Basingstoke. Unfortunately I don't have the times to hand.
Also someone made a mistake a few notes back. Japan drives on the left just
like we do in the UK.
