127.0. "Collection & Billings for General?" by JOCKEY::BROWNA (Alan Brown @EOO) Thu Aug 06 1992 08:42

Norwich Union in the UK are looking at the possibility of downsizing some of
their applications. Their general insurance side is specifically looking for a
packaged solution which could handle billing and collection for all products
(motor, household, health, commercial) through all channels.

This system should preferably run on U*ix but VMS would be acceptable if the
fit is good. The system will also have to interface to their existing
back-office IBM general ledger systems, and it is accepted that this will
require some integration work.

I realise that there are probably significant differences in, eg legislation
which will make an exact fit between US and UK, but it is unlikely that we will
find any package that does not need modification anyway.

Does anyone know of any suitable software packages?

ACT Financial Systems in England can cover most of this. Their s/w
runs on VMS and UNIX. The business manager for Insurance is
Mark Lofthouse on 021-455-6111. They also have a range of other
s/w mainly for banking etc but also do Unit Trusts,PEPS and
    	Mortgages.

ACT Financial systems are our largest Financial CSO in the U.K.
and have a turnover of about 50m. They are part of the ACT Group.

Otherwise contact myself their CSO Account Manager.
