125.0. "Admin process re-engineering???" by FULMER::GRACIE (Mafuta!) Wed Aug 07 1991 13:24
Hi,
I am interested in "process re-engineering" in Insurance administration
- new business, claims etc. Can anyone tell me where we've run projects
to look at admin processes, then redesigned these processes using fewer
steps, at less cost, with less delay etc. I'd also be interested in a
very brief description the project's vital statistics, for instance
Old proc New Proc
New Business Proc. 57 steps 21 steps
Cost per prop 29 16
Time per prop 85 mins 32 mins
Internal rate of ret +- 90%
Based on workflow software and hopefully something like
Smart Folder - but we're still working out how!!!
regards
Andrew

| I read your note and it sounds to me like you should be talking to Diana
Pringle @HHL. She has just completed a new business pilot in the UK and they
are in the process of assessin gthe results at the moment.
