                    INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF INSURANCE
      
      
      
                Provincial Insurance of the UK issues a 
       1992-oriented brochure on the advantages of dealing with the 
       International Network of Insurance, a consortium of 15 
       "leading European Insurers" with 40 affiliates worldwide. 
          
       	    	The INI provides non-life Insurance worldwide to 
        internationally operating commercial clients. The service 
        provides local claims and risk suveys, compliance with all 
        local regulations, expert local knowledge, etc. coupled with 
        a master policy covering any differences in conditions or 
        levels where necessary. An annual policy summary of local 
        cover & changes during the year is produced. 
      
                Each member organisation can assume cover for most 
       risks on behalf of other INI members, and can provide a 
       central quote setting rating levels worldwide.
      
                The brochure clearly states that INI works on the 
       principle of one insurer per country, so Provincial seems to 
       be in a position of competitive advantage.
      
                Has anyone else come across the INI?
      
                Who are the members in other countries?
      
                What equipment do they use? (Provincial uses ICL).
      
                Is the INI one of many such consortia? Does anybody 
       have similar information on other consortia?
      
                INI is based in Brussels; is there anyone from 
       Digital talking to them?
