5.0. "Decentralized ex-IBM Reference Account???" by ECAVAX::GOERTEMOE () Fri Feb 19 1988 16:39

Dear Colleagues,

My name is Becky Goertemoeller, I am the sales support specialist assigned to
Associated Insurance Companies, Inc. (dba Blue Cross Blue Shield of Indiana).

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Indiana is the twelfth largest Blue plan in the
country. Like many traditional indemnity insurance companies, AIC is
branching beyond their conventional business into new markets. They are
accomplishing this by decentralization and major acquisitions. Digital is
being considered as the vendor of choice for the decentralized processing.
Howard Aughinbaugh, the Senior Account Manager and I are working very hard to
educate and inform IBM's largest account in Indiana, of the Digital
Differences and why Digital is the obvious alternative.

AIC would like to contact some reference accounts that have gone through a
similar decentralization and IBM conversion process. Does anyone know of any
accounts that would fit this description?

The VP of MIS would like to contact someone by phone, then if appropriate,
arrange a site visit.

Please let us know if you can be of assistance. We look forward to hearing
from you.

Sincerely,

Becky Goertemoeller

    You may not have spoken to Ed, but here I am. Actually, Becky, we
    met in Columbus at the DECday there.

    First: Michael, and all noters, should remember NOT TO TYPE IN UPPER
    CASE IN VAXNOTES! It is considered to be YELLING!!!!!

    Second, Becky, call Jim Brent @MWO and talk to him about Milwaukee
    Insurance. It is no bigger than Allendale, but is a total conversion
    job. They are a champion of Digital also.

5.3Corroon & BlackSIMVAX::BAKERMon Feb 22 1988 14:289
    While they are not of the size you are looking for, and are not
    very "physically" distributed, Corroon & Black may be another option.
    They have pretty much their whole operation on VAX (Including health
    claims processing which should go on line shortly). You could wish
    to check with the account rep, Tim Westley to find out more.

    Good Luck

5.4Mass MutualSIMVAX::BAKERTue Mar 08 1988 07:216
    Mass Mutual is currently developing a Health Claim procvessing system
    using Digital VAXes as the front end. This is not a reference account
    yet, but if you contact Jim Intravia at the Springfield Digital
    office you should be able to get the details.
