99.0. "New version, V1.1" by PLAYER::BROWNL (A-mazed on the info Highway!) Thu Jun 02 1994 18:06
There is a new version of TDL out; V1.1. It's available from
TARKIN::ACAD77:[LIN.PUBLIC.WINDOWS3]
There are two files:
TDL11.ZIP and
TDLEXE11.ZIP
The former is a full kit, for new installations. The latter is simply a
README and a new executable (TDL.EXE); all that is required to upgrade
an existing installation.
Please don't forget the rules regarding access times: only access after
work hours, Eastern Time. If the files aren't there yet, be patient,
Bill's a busy man, and I only just sent them to him..
Cheers, Laurie.
PS. Here's the README.TXT (I remembered this time!).
TDL V1.1
~~~~~~~~
[Version change details are at the end of this file]
Introduction
~~~~~~~~~~~~
TDL is a program designed to help you maintain a list of "to do" items.
These items can be deleted, saved, rescheduled, edited, have alarms, notes
or telephone numbers associated, and lots more. A fuller list of features
is given below.
Environment
~~~~~~~~~~~
TDL needs Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups V3.1 or V3.11.
Untested on other versions of Windows or Windows lookalikes.
Features
~~~~~~~~
TDL includes the following functionality:
o Postponing of items by a given number of days, or until
a specific date
o Closing of items, which are saved for later reports, etc
o Permanent deleting of items
o Editing of items
o Alarms attached to items
o Notes attached to items
o Maintenance of a telephone number database, with the ability
to associate a telephone number with an item
o Prioritisation of items
o Notification of overdue items
o The ability to handle multiple databases open simultaneously (a
"database" in this context is a list of related items. For
example, you may have a list of to do items for project X, another
for project Y, and a third list of personal to do items).
o The ability to assign meaningful (non-8.3) names to databases
o The ability to automatically load given databases on startup, and
to determine which one will be displayed by default
o Extensive customisation options
Installation
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Unzip the kit to a floppy disk or a spare directory on your hard disk,
and execute SETUP.EXE (if you do this from DOS, Windows will automatic-
ally be started for you). Then simply follow the on-screen instructions.
Redistribution
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are wecome to redistribute this application provided that:
1. All files, including this one, are distributed
2. No charges are made, other than a nominal one for copying the
files

| Keith,
I thought I'd contact you directly, but I will also enter this into the
Notes conference.
[Possible Bug?]
Is it normal for the cursor to 'jump' when defining a custom colour? I
want to change the colour of Low Priority entries to near British Rac-
ing Green, from the default black.
Click on the "Define Custom Colors..." button, and two additional pal-
ettes are displayed. Moving the cursor around the large square palette
is smooth, but on the narrow vertical palette, the cursor jumps to the
right-hand side. (or is one supposed to use the sliding triangle?)
[Possible Enhancement?]
Some of the icons appear to run into each other. Could you provide a
little white space between each button, or (better still) reduce the
size of the pictures on each of the buttons?
Thanks and regards,
Martin.
P.S. If an alarm is set and (for some reason) the PC is not powered on
at the alarm time, is the alarm held until the PC is next switch-
ed on, or is the alarm sent into the proverbial black hole?
P.P.S. Give me thirty days, and I will send you a postcard.
