| Last night I (FINALLY!) managed to get the communication I need passing
between Visual Basic and a DLL written in C (the communication being
the passing of strings if you're interested). Oh the joys of writing
code to run under DOS/Windows...
The immediate tasks are as follows:
o To re-write the code that handles the database in C so that the
ridiculous, Visual Basic-imposed, limit of 179 items in total is
completely removed. After doing this, the limit will be
determined only by the memory, including virtual, on the PC, and
thus, for all practical purposes, will be unlimited.
o To fix the null alarms bug.

Up until now, as you know, I've given TDL in its various field test
formats away. To my knowledge, the only people using it are:
Keith Edmunds
Mark Watkings
Wendy Watkins
Susi Thayer
If you know of any others, please mail me.
I'm aware that, one day, I may want to issue TDL as shareware or
something. Thus the deal is as follows: until further notice, you may
give TDL in its latest release to anyone provided you let me know via
mail. One day I may pull this out... The four people named above, in
return for feedback on usage/bugs/requests/etc, will always be entitled
to use TDL. I may, however, issue some formal piece of paper one day
stating that.
Comments on any of the above are welcome.

| Oy Edmunds! I'm playing with it (fnarr) too! Granted, I don't have a PC
at work, after all what's wrong with a VAXStation 2000? However,
despite that fact that I can't actually *use* it in anger, I have
installed it, and I have run it a few times. Found some bugs even. Why,
just today I actually copied the latest and greatest over.
Laurie.
