171.0. "A couple questions of shipments/adjustments" by CINEMX::ELLIS (DIANE ELLIS DTN 285-6135) Wed Apr 05 1989 16:11

I have a couple of questions concerning shipments. I have been
going in to the rgf to create reports for aggregate level on
systems for comparison to the 'old' COPIS information that I
have pulled. Most of the shipments are off. My question is
when adjustments are made to the shipments, are they entered
at a specific time of the month or randomly? Also, for the
NAUTL-MP, the number for January 1989 for the old system was
-1, and it was 1 from FMAP. Can you tell me if this is an
adjustment of 2 or is the new system not picking up negative
    numbers?

    Thanks in advance.

Diane, let me try to answer your specific questions and then give you some
other pertinent info:

Your questions
--------------

1. Are adjustments entered at a specific time of the month or randomly?

I do not know exactly when adjustments are entered, but neither the
DEC-10 COPIS System nor FMAP make any decisions regarding the "when".
Both systems will post an adjustment based on the actual ship date
     in the adjustment transaction.

2. Is the new system not picking up negative numbers?

The new system does indeed pick up and display/report negative numbers.

Other info
----------

We recently discovered that a technical change was made to the US Area Revenue
Accounting feed for shipments. This change was made in November by the source
of the feed, US Area Revenue Accounting. This change caused the DEC-10 COPIS
System to ignore some of the shipment records. This change did not impact FMAP.
Thus, from November onward, the FMAP quantities for shipments may very well
differ from the DEC-10 quantities.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions or need more info, le me
know.
