161.0. "Comapring Backlog and Certs" by ISLNDS::MORRISON (Bill Morrison) Thu Jan 26 1989 11:30

I'm having problems in getting the old COPIS system to relate to
the new system. Here's my latest findings.

    BAcklog......

The total backlog at the FV level for part number VT320-A3 on the
old COPIS system for Europe was 5476 units for DEcember. When looking
at the new FAP its 8260 units for europe for December. I used the
BK10 screen and using the FA level with a Geographic Area of EUR.

Can someone please try and duplicate my dilemna and let me know
    if I am seeing things?

    Certs

The Scheduled Certs on the old COPIS system for the VT320-A3's for
Europe was 2590 units for December. On the new system they are
3065 units for DEcember. I used the SRT in the old COPIS
and the CT11 screen on the new FAP. I used the S code where it looks
for Schedld/Total and Geographic Area of EUR.

Can someone please try and duplicate my dilemna and let me know
    if I am seeing things?

If no problem can be detected, what number should I use to forecast
my products? And what should manufacture build for my products?
I hope someone realizes the effect that this system has on our
inventory strategy as well as customer satisfaction.

I certainly hope that these things can be resolved before we turn
off the switch on the old system.

Bill, I need more info on this one. For the Backlog, what DEC-10
screens and parameters did you use to arrive at the 5476 units?
