3. The "MD" ,"CH", or "TP" were DEC-10 designations that were strung
into the partnumber in the extract. The VAX doesn't use these concepts
and hence this 2 beginning bytes of the partnumber field was always
blank. I don't think that your programs were using this 2 bytes
but if they were, get back to us and we can discuss it.

We use the 2 beginning bytes of the partnumber field to distinguish
between our option and system ships. We build files that read the
COPIS data file selecting only the products that match and the associated
information which in turn is plugged into the CSSE database.

programs to accomodate the "TD" and "FA" designations instead of using "MD" and
"CH"?
