118.0. "NOV SHIP PLAN -10 VS VAX" by CINEMX::YOUNG (JUNE YOUNG DTN 237-3085) Wed Nov 30 1988 09:52

I NOTICE THAT TODAY'S SHIP PLAN DATA DIFFERS SIGNIFICANTLY FROM
COPIS-10 IN THE PERIODS Q2'89 AND Q4'90 .... FOR BOTH THE RA90 AND
THE RA82 ... AND FOR OTHER OPTIONS AS WELL, I PRESUME.

THE NUMBERS ARE SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT ... VIZ.:

    RA90 COPIS-10 Q2'89 = 3055 Q4'90 = 11717
            COPIS-VAX 2220 3189

    RA82 COPIS-10 Q2'89 = 11553 Q4'90 = 3486
            COPIS-VAX 8164 1001

ALL OTHER PARAMETERS ARE THE SAME ... I.E., TOTAL DEMAND, WORLDWIDE,
    ETC.

IS THIS TRUE FOR ALL OPTIONS? WHICH DTABASE IS CORRECT? I ASSUME
IT IS THE COPIS-10 AS THE RAMPS SEEM APPROPRIATE.

June, I have researched this issue and found that there are 2 minor problems
with the November Ship Plan - we are putting a notice in the Message Of The
Day to inform all of our users. Briefly, the problems are:

  1. We are not including the quantities from the last 2 months of the Ship
     Plan - this is months 19 and 20 (Q4 FY90).

  2. When pulling data for quarterly time frames, we are not including
October in the first quarterly total (Q2 FY89). If you need to see the
October quantity, you can pull the Ship Plan in monthly time frames
for the OCTOBER pass and use the October quantity.

The Developers are working to correct these problems. If you have any questions
please feel free to call me - Tom Malomo 269-2411.
