June,
I think you may have missed the rest of the error message.
If you try the process again, I think you will find
'directory not found' before the 'file not found' message.
The construct you are using (NODE::[DIRECTORY]) requires a
proxy account on your end - is one set up on node MPGS for
you? If so, is the directory [YOUNGJ] a valid top level
directory accessible to your home account on MPGS? If you
are still having problems with this, please call me or send
me mail.
> Do I have to create a file in SHR *BEFORE* file transfer from ORCHRD?
The answer to this one is NO. The proxy and/or decnet access
route has to be worked out.
> PS: Notes writing is AWFULLY slow ... is this a permanent slowness?
There is a discussion (sort of) going on on this subject in
NOTE 59.n

| KEN - I HAVE SET UP A PROXY WITH MY "HOME" NODE IN SHR (MPGS),
AND YOUNGJ IS MY MAIN (TOP-LEVEL) ACCOUNT ON THE SHR CLUSTER.
It "looks for" transmissions from the cluster alias ORCHRD.
Do you have the ORCHRD alias enabled for outgoing, or do we have
to set up 3 separate proxies for SHOTIM, CINEMX, and CSPAN ???

June,
The goal is to get to a cluster known to the outside world
as ORCHRD, without the baggage of having to know the nodes
involved. However, we are going through MANY changes at the
moment and our system managers are experimenting with various
things.
What the above gobbledy-gook means is that the answer to
your question is NO and YES - for the moment. Please bear
with us, your proxy at this time should be for CINEMX,
SHOTIM, CSPAN and ORCHRD. However, we will eventually be
telling everyone to only use ORCHRD.
