37.0. "Data discrepancy" by CINEMX::RICHARDS (DAN RICHARDS DTN 282-1411) Tue Oct 04 1988 09:49

    Hi,

    I'm trying to reconcile August ship plan from old COPIS to the
    Application Portfolio database. For some reason they do not tie
    out. Below are the codes I put in for COPIS:
    	Datatype:	SPP
    	Explosion Lev:	CH
    	Unit:	    	U
    	Start Date:	8807
    	End Date:	8906
    	Period:		M
    	Form:		H
    	Part Type:	PF
    	Part ID:	DSM1
    	Detail Type:	CH
    	Source Type:	AP
    	Sink Type:	GA

    	  Below are the codes I input for the Application Portfilio
    on screen PD4:
    	Aggragate Name:		DSM1
    	Pass Date:		Aug-1988
    	Month			M
    	Level:			TD
    	Units:			U
    	Desired Plan:		S

    Can Anybody tell me what the problem is?

    Thanks
    Dan Richards

37.1Known DifferencesCINEMX::COPUSER88Cynde Becker DTN 269-2111Thu Oct 06 1988 12:268

    Dan,

       There is a known differences at this time between CH and TD. We are
    currently investigating the legitimacy of this delta.

37.2Problem with agg DSM1CINEMX::COPUSER78Tom MalomoMon Oct 10 1988 09:4218
    Dan, there are 2 problems using user-defined aggs:

    1. There are hundreds of user-defined aggs on the DEC=10, many of
       which are obsolete and no longer used. The COPIS VAX development
       team is setting up a process to migrate only those user aggs that
       specific users identify. Right now, no user aggs have been set
       up on the VAX. When you perform an inquiry using your agg, you
       get all zeroes for quantity counts - I think it is better for
       the system to give you a message that your agg does not exist,
       I will suggest this to the developers.

    2. Even when your agg is set up on the VAX, you might get lower
       quantities due to a problem with the way some aggs were set
       up on the DEC-10, where there was the potential for double counting.
       As soon as we resolve this, we will publish a document explaining
       this in more detail.
                                              Tom Malomo 269-2411

37.3Was the old ship plan wrong?PLANET::RICHARDSMon Oct 10 1988 11:537
    Tom,

    Are you telling me that the ship plan that our users have been using
    is wrong?

    Thanks
    Dan
37.4Ship Plan with Incorrect ChartsCINEMX::COPUSER78Tom MalomoMon Oct 17 1988 17:004
    Dan, the Ship Plan at the First Volume level was accurate, however,
    when calculating total demand using charts, there were charts that
    were set up incorrectly. Not all charts were set up incorrectly,
    but for those that were, some double counting occurred.
