19.0. "12 MONTHS DETAIL PLUS" by CINEMX::ACKER (MICHELE BICKFORD ACKER DTN 297-2406) Tue Sep 20 1988 17:42

    IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO BE ABLE TO GET MORE DETIAL IN THE "PA3"
    SCREEN.

    TODAY "PA3" PROVIDES AUG THRUOGH DEC PLANS BY MONTH. THEN PLANS
    FOR Q3 F89, Q4 F89, AND Q1 F90.

    IN MY JOB TODAY I ALSO NEED TO SEE THE PLANS BY MONTH FOR 12 MONTHS.

    NEED TO KNOW THE HAPPENINGS FOR WHEN "F.A.P. WILL BE PROVIDING THIS.

    LETS HOPE OLD COPIS DOES NOT GET SHUT DOWN UNTIL NEW FAP CAN PROVIDE
    THIS NEED TO ITS USERS.

    KEEP ME POSTED PLEASE!!!

19.1Currently you get 10 months - would this option help?CINEMX::COPDEV61Wed Sep 21 1988 15:2717
    Michele,

    Would it make it easier if the user was asked if he wanted a
    quarterly summary (the entire ship plan horizon is printed), the
    1st 10 months of a plan, or the last 10 months of a plan?
    They'd have to execute queries but at least it would be legible!

    I'll check out this option with the Demand/Supply people.
    Since several people have asked for it, it will most likely
    be implemented in a future release before the old COPIS system
    is turned off.

    Until then, you can run the ship plan queries by execution date
    to retrieve the remaining 2 months.

19.2OPTION WOULD HELP!!CINEMX::ACKERMICHELE BICKFORD ACKER DTN 297-2406Wed Oct 05 1988 15:009
    KAREN

    I WAS JUST IN THE PD3 SCREEN AND SAW THE 10 MONTHS. YES IF THE
     USER WAS ASKED IF HE WANTED THE 1ST 10 MONTHS OR THE LAST 10 MONTHS
    WOULD SOLVE MY PROBLEM.

    IF THIS HAPPENS, WOULD I BE EXECUTING THE QUERIES TWO TIMES??

    THANKS FOR THE HELP.

    Michele,

    The option to specify the first 10 months or the second 10 months
    of the ship plan will be in Release 1.1 coming out momentarily.
    And yes - you would be executing two separate queries.

19.4Still a 12 month year last time I lookedFACVAX::BMORRISONBill MorrisonThu Oct 20 1988 12:269
    I too would like to see a 12 month horizon. Most planning groups
    that I work with still deal with a 12 month horizon and to only
    see a 10 month horizon is not even a norm on any system that I am
    aware of. Why was a 10 month horizon even thought of in the first
    place? I guess there must have been a MIS demand somewhere but
    certainly not from a user perspective.

    Sorry to be so strong, but relaying my frustration.

19.5Use RGF to see 12 monthsCINEMX::COPUSER88Cynthia Becker, EUSWed Mar 15 1989 12:2815

   You can view up to 12 months in the Report Generator Facility or up to 8
quarters. The 10 month view in the screens is dictated by what can fit in the
limited space of an individual screen.
