22.1 | pick a cost - any cost !! | KBOMFG::HENDERSON | | Thu Jan 07 1993 10:17 | 38 |
| Hi,
Brief intro - I work in Kaufbeuren, Germany as the Finance IM&T
support. I have just started into the guts of TPAS this week and so
far have installed the software and in general started pestering my
users for answers. I see by these notes files Josephine and Yn
appear to be the furthest on, so hopefully I can learn from you.
(Jo already has been passing some info). So please bear with me
if some of these questions are not so clear or in fact a bit
wayward.
APPIX - AMP2
Today KBO runs a job daily (noon) which if found will update the AMP2
file with the APPIX data. This input file is sequentially numbered
and it is only at the last Saturday of the fiscal month that we
really check that all files have been received and loaded. After
closing MAXCIM, the AMP2 file is then fed to MAXCIM INCMS file.
Q: Should I continue to update AMP2 daily as per my schedule or
is there an assumption that somehow all sites will update at
the same time?
Q: By updating the AMP2 daily, then it is possible to ship the
same part at different times of the same day even, with
different costs. Is it correct that ONLY parts whose STD
was 0 will be updated during the month?
MAXCIM INCMS is not changed during the month except for such
cases or where the STD is totally out of line.
Q: Is there a memo, document detailing the schedules of updates ?
Thanks
CAthy

Subject: TPAS DATABASE EXTRACTS - PROCESS and SCHEDULE
The following is the schedule and the process for availability of the TPAS
extract files for updating the local TPAS databases, TPAS$DB and
TPAS$STKRM_DB. There is some flexibility in the availability of the
stockroom data, please let me know if that schedule is acceptable.
TPAS$DB - SQL Extract File
Corporate Tax supplies the APPIX organization the data. The APPIX
Organization validates the data for accuracy then creates an
extract file for sites to pull. This data is the PRICING_TABLE,
DISCOUNT_TABLE and TRNSFR_AREA_TABLE.
Sites will pull the extract file by executing:
TPAS_COPY_MNTHLY.COM
supplied in the VMS install kit.
Once the file is pulled over sites can populate their TPAS$DB using:
TPAS_SITE_IMPORT_DB.COM
also supplied in the VMS install kit.
Sites are free to modify these command stream to fit their own
production standards. The timing of these command stream to run is
also site specific with one exception the extract file for the
TPAS$DB will be available after:
LAST FISCAL WEEK (4 or 5) - DAY 4 (Wednesday) - 20:00 EST
TPAS$STKRM_DB - SQL Extract File
Corporate Cost Accounting supplies the APPIX organization the
stockroom data. The APPIX Organization then creates an extract
file for sites to pull. This data is the STOCKROOM table.
Sites will pull the extract file by executing:
TPAS_COPY_STKRM_MNTHLY.COM
supplied in the VMS install kit.
Once the file is pulled over sites can populate their TPAS$DB using:
TPAS_SITE_IMPORT_STKRM_DB.COM
also supplied in the VMS install kit.
Sites are free to modify these command streams to fit their own
production standards. The timing of these command stream to run is
also site specific with one exception the extract file for the
TPAS$STKRM_DB will be available after:
LAST FISCAL WEEK (4 or 5) - DAY 7 (Saturday) - 24:00 EST
**** Note that all accounts doing the TPAS_COPY_STKRM_MNTHLY and
TPAS_COPY_MNTHLY procedures MUST have proxy access into the
ACADMY cluster. Instructions for this are given in the installation
documentation.

22.6 | What if TRANSFER AREA CODE is used ?? | ZGOV02::YNTAN | YN TAN @ZGO | Sat Feb 20 1993 21:23 | 13 |
| Lois,
Just to countercheck with you. ZGO uses transfer area code in the
call to TPAS to get the transfer price. Is it neccessary to have the
updated TPAS$STKRM_DB database every monthend ?? If so,
I hope that this stockrm database be available on the
Wednesday of last fiscal week of the fiscal month (same
timing as TPAS$DB).
Tnanks,
Rgds,
Yan Noi

22.7 | No translation needed if using TRNSFR_AREA_CD | AWARD::MAGNI | IM&T - 223-9837 | Mon Feb 22 1993 12:57 | 14 |
| Yan Noi,
As Singapore will be using the Transfer_area_code for the Ship_from
and Ship_to then no translation will have to occur. You will not need the
TPAS$STKRM_DB updated.
If you do want to copy it - currently the schedule IS Different from the
TPAS$DB update. The sources of the data are different. The stockroom data
we obtain from Corp Cost Accounting and it is available to us on the last
Saturday of the fiscal month.
Whereas the TPAS$DB is from Corp Tax, who make it available earlier for
validation and for sites to be prepared for Transfer Price Differences.
regards,
Lois
