19.0. "GIA Issues" by GIAMEM::RWBROWN () Fri Oct 23 1992 14:22

The following are issues raised by GIA sites around the implementation
of TPAS. Please feel free to respond on any issues that may affect
your relationship with the GIA sites. The GIA sites planning to
implement TPAS on or about Jan 93 are TAO/ZGO/HKO/GYT/DEK/JPC

	1) Procurement Centers:
JPC: What incentive is there for the customer to place an order
with the lowest cost supplier if procurement material is
priced at standard instead of actual?
For JPC price will be set at time of order receipt as opposed
to time of shipment. This is because 20-30% of JPC parts
require an export license from MITI which takes several
weeks to obtain, therefore the price cannot be changed
after the application has been made.
APC: Aust. customs 'frowns' upon exports at a price different
from actual cost on procurement parts if STD + UPLIFT < ACTUAL

	2) ZGO: Indicates that software parts not only have different stds by
rev but also different MLPs by rev which is not reflected in
APPIX, therefore they reason that software parts will not be
		subject to TPAS pricing rules.

	3) ALL: How will reconciliation be done?
How will the receiving site verify the invoice price?
In order for receiving site to validate TPAS price on invoice
they need to call TPAS providing the ACTUAL SHIP DATE (or
INVOICE DATE) but TPAS doesn't curently allow for this, nor
does APPIX store info by effective date.

	4) ALL: Question on partial shipments:
In MAXCIM, once a shipment against a line item is made the
UNIT PRICE info cannot be changed - therefore the TPAS price
is frozen on a line after 1st ship is made (i.e if qty = 100
and 1 piece ships then the TPAS price for the 1 piece is
frozen for the balance of 99 regardless of when they ship)
How does this assumption affect other sites?

	5) All: GIA sites only print 2 decimals in TOTAL MTP so we need clarify
and agree on rounding rules (i.e. UNIT MTP * QTY then round)

	6) SPR: How to solve problem in Phase 1 whereby the same part ships
from or is received into both MFG and SALES - Sales has their
own MLP so if MFG uses TPAS and comes up with a different
price then AUST. customs will be upset
