Hello, A customer booting from EZA0 (MOP V3) with user ROM code in PBR1 fails to boot because of DECnet/OSI. The board is old rev. To boot using MOP V4 for DECnet OSI requires KAV rev C02, which has ROM in PBR1. I suggested to place the customer user code in PBR0. However the Hardware Installation Manual does not tell the maximum size and sockets location of PBR0 roms. Where can I get this information from ? Thank you inadvance. Best regards, Philippe

Hi Phillipe, you (the customer) can get an upgrade kit with the new EPROM's which will enable the KAV30 to boot from DECnet/OSI - contact Roland on EICMFG::RSVENNBERG for details... I don't understand your question about PBR0 and PBR1 - there is only one EPROM set on the KAV30 and you cannot boot from EZA and EPROM 'simultaneously'... as far as I remember the difference between PBR0 and PBR1 is that the first boots directly from EPROM and the second copies over to RAM and boots fro there. And PRB0 (booting from EPROM without copying to RAM first) is not supported on KAV30... If I haven't understood your question, pls give some more details ;-) Regards, Thomas |
