| Hi,
see note 137.4 of this conference....
There is an upcoming ECO which will eliminate the need of any user
intervention to boot DECnet/OSI etc. (firmware correction in rtVAX300)

| Hello Thomas,
Does this upcoming ECO will free PRB1 for customer use and integrate
MOP V3 and MOP V4 in the rtVAX300 chip boot roms ?
When will that upcoming ECO be available ?
Philippe Vouters
PS: I have a customer needing to boot from DECnet/OSI and have
diagnostics roms in PRB1.

| Hi Phillipe,
yes, this will 'free' PRB1 - as long as your customer does not use SCSI
boot (and he won't, since he wants to use OSI etc...)
The actual availability of KAV30's with this feature depends on
production, we believe it will be June before modules come out of
factory.
Does your customer buy new modules or does he want to 'upgrade' ?
Upgrade will be difficult to manage and he would have to pay for that,
since this is an 'enhancement' to already available features... on the
other hand we could offer a 'test-module' as a loaner to 'smooth' his
transition...
regards,
Thomas
