134.0. "KAV30 Revision C01 Vs B01" by SOLVIT::NIVANA::SAVINI () Fri Jul 29 1994 22:36

  Thomas,

    Can a modification of the KAV30 revision C01 be upgraded (downgraded) to
the firmware of the KAV30 B01? Or is it not that simple? Has the addressing
of code changed from B01 to C01? I know some the changes are from a 12 layer
board to 10 etc. A customer has had delivery of the B01 and C01. The problem
being, is the application is written around the B01 and cannot be modified as
this is a government project. (black coded). I also sent you the same info on
EICMFG. If I can provide the B01 code for modification of the C01, I would need
a pointer to the B01 code.

 Thanks,

 Dave

134.1I know I changed something....EICMFG::KAV30_SUPPMon Aug 01 1994 12:028
    What code do you mean? The ROMs ? I know I changed the ROMs for C01
    but I am no sure what I changed - So might work, I will have to check

    If you talk about the CVAX revision B vs C Those ROMs are diffrent and
    can not be exchanged.

134.2Cannot Exchange ROMSOLVIT::NIVANA::SAVINIThu Aug 04 1994 00:5610

   Hi Julian, in a discussion on the telephone with Thomas, it was pointed out
the exchange of ROM from the C01 Revision KAV30 could not be used in the B01
revision. The customer has to swap out his KAV30 Rev BO1 to Rev C01. So for the
sake of the notes conf. I would like to close this point and inquiry.

 Thanks for your help.

 Dave
