Hello,
This is not a KAV30 question, but since the notes is managed in Germany, I am
hoping you may be able to answer the following:
We have a VAXELN customer who has a MOTIF application that was written for a
German customer. He has an LK401-AG keyboard with key top that is in
Austrian/German. In his EBUILD he used AUSTRIAN_GERMAN_LK401AG_TW.DECW$KEYMAP
file that is provided in the ELN kit. When he typed, he found that the key
stroke displayed on the screen did not match the key top. I asked him to copy
the file from VMS and see what would happen. The results were better, but he
still had several mis-matches.
He says that from >>> prompt, if he sets the key board to 1 (set kbd 1) the
keys are properly mapped.
Since I don't have access to an Austrian/German keyboard, I cannot test much
for the customer. Does every key pressed match the key top? Can someone tell
me if the keymap file used in Germany is the same one that is included in the
VMS decw$keymap directory that we get in US? If not, would you please post
the keymap file used there as a reply to this note. I will have my customer
test it.

| Hi Sumithra,
I havedone a difference of the AUSTRIAN_GERMAN keymap files supplied with
Versions 4.4 and 4.5 of VAXELN, with the version supplied with VAXVMS, here in
Germany.
The result is as follows
Number of difference sections found: 3
Number of difference records found: 48
DIFFERENCES /IGNORE=()/MERGED=1-
SYS$COMMON:[SYS$KEYMAP.DECW.SYSTEM]AUSTRIAN_GERMAN_LK401AG_TW.DECW$KEYMAP;2-
SYS$SYSDEVICE:[ELN.KEYMAP]AUSTRIAN_GERMAN_LK401AG_TW.DECW$KEYMAP;1
This indicates that the VAXELN supplied keymap is not identical as used from
VAXVMS. Any ideas why ?
For your information the keymap file supplied the version of VAXVMS I am running
(V5.5-2) is attached to this reply.
