| There is no std DEC cable which goes from the 50pin Honda connector (KAV30)
to a disk drive. The only cable we supply are the ones which go from the
KAV30 connector to "big" SCSI connectors.
The pinout of the SCSI connector of the KAV30 is in the hardware reference
manual in an appendix.

| Yep, I got the KAV30 pinout, thanks. BUT then I need the pinout for the
connector on the RZ23L - or is it sufficiently obvious that anyone with
any sense can work it out for themselves :-)

91.3 | Pinouts are specified by SCSI-2. | BACHUS::BRST20::BRUSCHE | | Wed Jun 09 1993 10:48 | 12 |

If both devices have a 50-pin Berg-type unshielded flat cable
connector, they should have the same pinout.
It's specified by the SCSI-2 ANSI specification section 4.3.1.2.
You can find the pinout of other specified connectors in a Digital
manual called : Small Computer System Interface , Developer's Guide.
EK-SCSIS-SP
It's a part of the regular VMS documentation set. (Also on DOC CDrom).

| OK, thanks, *that's* what I wanted ("if both connectors...")
I had looked briefly at the SCSI docs on CDROM (it's great when someone
on your LAN has a well-stocked Infoserver) but wasn't confident that it
gave me the right answer.
Now I *know* the answer.
