76.1 | PC located in the BOOT ROMs. | SWTHOM::VOUTERS | Philippe VOUTERS (Evry France) | Thu Feb 11 1993 17:42 | 6 |
| Hello Jean-Pierre,
With a PC = 2004792E, this would show that the problem resides in the
BOOT ROMs containing VMB. There could be a bug in that software.

Philippe

76.2 | The firmware for Rev A0x and Rev B0x is different | EICMFG::GABEL | Support the arts. Kiss a synthesizist! | Thu Feb 18 1993 17:00 | 8 |
| Jean Pierre!
The firmware for KAV30 Rev.A0x (rtVAX300 rev B1) and Rev.B0x (rtVAX300 rev C1)
is different. Therefore you can't exchange EPROMs between these revisions.
In order to blast your application for a A0x board you have to use the patch
described in 54.8. For a B0x board you don't need a patch.

76.4 | Customer with same symptoms but different setup | ZYDECO::BODA | Realtime Products Support | Thu Jun 24 1993 02:49 | 20 |
| Hi Jean-Pierre,
Do you know what the outcome of your customer's problem was? Was it due
to the mixmatch of using eproms that contained the patch for the rtVAX300 rev B
boot problem (using the 96k diags + user application) on the new kav30 with
the rtVAX300 rev C?
I have a customer with the same symptom of receiving the halt message
%07 SCB ERR3
However, he claims he reblasted his eproms using the patch for a kav30 with
the rtVAX300 rev B. He is confirming his halt PC. Reportedly
he added new code to the application and has simply reblasted using the
96k diags and his patched system image. He also is suspecting some h/w problems.
So I'm just looking for additional causes for this halt message as well.
Thanks,
Alan
