68.0. "3rd party IEEE" by KERNEL::MCCULLAGHA () Fri Sep 25 1992 11:27

Hi
	I have a customer,(BAe.), who is after a third party IEEE-488 driver
for the KAV30. He's running VAXELN v2.3. Does anyone out there know a supplier,
and can give name, address, tel.no. etc.

		Thanks Alec

Alec,

we had contact with National Instruments and they made indications
to support a IEEE-488 on request. However, this may not be the status
anymore.

What I can do for you is to request such I driver from one of hte VMEbus
suppliers participating in the DECrealtime program. They come together
next week and get trained on ELN and DECrti drivers/icons.

In order to pick the right product, I would need to know more about the
expected performance (DMA yes/no), the type of functionality your customer
needs (listener only ?) and the supplier of choice (if this exists).

Regards,

Wolfgang

Hi wolfgang
Thanks for your response. A quick update: BAe believe they are running
VAXELN v 4.3, they require an IEEE 488 card with a driver, an 'off the peg'
solution. The contact at BAe is John Westmorland, whom I am led to believe you
have had dealings with re the KAV30. To save time and possibly many notes to
this topic he has elected to call you directly. Hope this is ok.
	Regards
