| Aldo,
the product manager of the KAV30 is
Erwin Kettner @UFC
EICMFG::KETTNER
DTN 865-3024
He can give you the pointers where to get the
- KAV30 H/W Installation Guide
- Purchase Spec
- Test Reports (hardcopy)
- H/W Test Summary (hardcopy)
These are the documents you'll find all the information you need.
- These numbers are given in the KAV30 H/W Installation Guide:
Temperature and Humidity
Power Supply Spec
Bus Load Spec
Timing Spec
- The Purchase Spec refers to the DECstandards whereas the
- H/W Test Summary
(not an official document) lists most the test procedures and contains
a form that summarizes the key data.
- The test report for shock and vibration contains all the diagrams. I don't
think that this is what you want.
The DECstandards cover most of EN60950, however I can remember that the labels
have been tested separately to ensure EN60950 compliance.
Note that the EIC Munich got an ISO9000 cerificate.
The product is qualified according to the DECstandards applicable for worldwide
products (Class A).
This is what you should look for (no guarantee that this list is complete):

Other legal requirements: the amount of lithium contained in the
battery is below the limit (0.5g ?) where
export restrictions apply.
Other issues: Although EMC cannot be specified for board
level products it is worth noting that the
KAV30 is designed to reduce emmissions when
used in EMC crates. An inhouse test proved
that FCC compliance can be achieved.
(For your info: standard VME crates are
not designed to meet FCC. The poor
shielding of the crates and the front
panel can cause some problems. The KAV30
fully supports EMC crates.)
