34.0. "Euclid support opportunities in San Diego!" by SDOGUS::BOYACK (Workin' on my December tan in San Diego!) Tue Dec 12 1989 19:21
The Sales Support/PSS Unit in San Diego (sdo) is currently looking for
qualified personnel to support Digital's role as a systems integrator on
a program that we are working in partnership with General Dynamics Convair
div. and Matra Datavision.
One of the main parts of the program is the implementation and support of
EUCLID-IS, a solids modeling based CAD/CAM system. Currently, we have over
50 seats running Euclid, installed on 10 LAVc. This is expected to grow
much more as we ramp up and get qualified support personnel on-line.
We are looking for individuals that are well versed in CAD/CAM fundamentals
and have several years of experience as a systems user. The individuals we
hope to hire would have used their experience and training to help coach
and tutor others and would have been classified as a "super-user". The
candidate should have experience in Fortran programming and in VMS systems
and commands. Unix experience is a plus, as the customer is rapidly moving
in this direction.
Experience with solid and surface modelers is desired (ideally Euclid),
however, experience with other CAD/CAM systems such as Computervision and
Bravo or Unigraphics will be considered. A BSME or equiv. plus 3-5 years
experience as a user of CAD/CAM tools in a design environment and as a
consultant to customers is desired. Travel will be minimum and only as
required for personal training. Preferred candidates are employees of
Digital Equipment Corporation, however, our search for qualified candidates
may be opened to non-DEC candidates.
This position requires residency at General Dynamics Convair facility in
San Diego, CA. Digital will pay relocation to San Diego for those employees
selected. All inquiries will be treated with confidence. Please feel free to
pass this posting along to qualified individuals that you think may be
interested.
Respond via e-mail to Steven Boyack @SDO, or SDOGUS::Boyack.

Steve
