PDES Inc. is building a set of data models and is calling for
help from the member companies to validate them.  The model
discussed below is supposed to show how data goes from a 3-D 
database to create an NC part.

This is a good opportunity for DEC to contribute to this important
effort, and to influence the direction taken by the data models.
If you, or someone in your area is able to help, I would
appreciate your contacting me.  Details of the type of person needed
for this meeting are shown below.  If you need any further information,
please send me mail or call at dtn: 381-2807.  Note that experience in
data modeling is NOT required.  However, it WILL most likely be an
opportunity to learn a little about it.  I'm sorry about the short notice,
but that seems to be the way PDES Inc. operates.

Dear TAC Member:

The NC Application Context Driven Integration Model team will be
holding two application expert workshops.  The first application
expert workshop will be held on September 20, 1989 at the Compri
hotel in El Segundo, CA.   The second workshop will be in the
Dallas/Fort Worth area at the General Dynamics facility on October
3, 1989.  You are invited to send one expert from your company to 
either of the two workshops.

The type of expert we are looking for should have background in
one or more of the following areas:

	o NC programming experience
	o Manufacturing Engineering
	o Manufacturing Planning with respect to NC Fabrication
	o An understanding of the data requirements of the NC 
	  tasks placed upon the Engineering Design Data (e.g.,
	  blueprint, parts lists, etc. ).
	o Form and Format of the Engineering Design Data (EDD).
	o Information interpreted from the EDD.
	o NC Application systems.

If you are planning to participate in the 20 September workshop
please have your experts make their reservations at the Compri (rate
of $75/night) as early as possible.  The contact at the Compri is
Daniel Justiano (213) 322-0999.  Please provide your experts name,
telephone number, mailing address (Federal Express address), and
FAX number to Nancy at SCRA (803) 760-3342 by September 13, 1989.
The pre-workshop packet will be placed in overnight mail on 
September 14, 1989.

If you are planning to participate in the 3 October workshop, a
notice concerning hotels will be sent out via FAX on 25 September.
Please provide your experts name, telephone number, mailing address
(Federal Express address), and FAX number to Nancy at SCRA (803)
760-3342 by September 21, 1989.  The pre-workshop packet will be
placed in overnight mail on September 27, 1989.

Please have your experts plan to travel on the day before and the
day after the workshop.  That way, if the workshop needs to extend
past 5:00 pm they will be able to provide full participation.  If
