Now that Euclid is being used as a design tool is there any work being
done to ensure that the design information generated can be released.
Currently the release system requires a PLO file for micro-filming.
I believe that the micro-filming process is going to change to
accept postscript files which will allow Euclid files to be released,
Euclid postscript is currently undergoing beta-test.
Does anyone have a date when the release process will be able to
process postscript output?
Can anyone give an update on how the beta-test of postscript is going ?

Although an extra step in the process, one approach is to read
Euclid Postscript, IGES or HPGL into DECview3D (Starview is
internal name) and output a .PLO file from DECview3D to be used
in the existing release process. This may be a good temporary
fix until Postscript or other possibilities come into being.
.PLO files are also used by many of our internal configuration
and file management tools, as well as electrostatic plotters.
DECview3D is currently in beta test within Digital. If you are
interested in participating in the beta test, contact Bill Carr
on STARVU::WCARR. If you are interested in looking at the product
specification, contact Fiona Sanderson (CURIE::SANDERSON).

Can anyone supply me with more specific information. To plan
future product releases through Euclid I have to be certain I can
release drawing information.
As far as I am aware the beta test Starview cannot accept HPGL files
but this capability is planned. Does anyone know the date when
Starview (DECview 3D) will accpet HPGL files and output these as
PLO files ?
Again I believe the release process is gearing up to accept Postscript
files for release. Is this so, and if so, is there a commit date for
this ?
Matra currently have a beta test version of Euclid Postscript out.
Is there a date for this being an official product ?

We are working on passing both HPGL and IGES files into DECview3D.
We have passed 2D IGES files in and gotten Postcript out , the only
problem we have found is arrows get messed up. Once we figureout
the arrows we will give you the magic IGES settings.
We have also gotten IGES into SMP 81 and hope to send a part for
fab in the next couple of weeks.
