I'm in the process of migrating a SNADs gateway to a MRMEMO gateway and will need to maintain the snads gateway for a few months while the memo gateway is tested. If I use the mrmman option /define memo_address=pr_attributes and add pr_username and pr_location entries for the subscribers new memo address the subscribers will now have both SN attributes defined and now PR attributes defined. One for they're old mail system and one for they're new memo system. The question is - when addressing the mail how do you direct it to the required mail system? Have I misunderstood? Can you have both these attributes types defined for a single subscriber? Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill, > The question is - when addressing the mail how do you direct it to the > required mail system? The mail address of any DDS subscriber is specified in the MHSaddress element (corresponding to the Reverse lookup) The reverse lookup of a MEMO subscriber is typically <dgn>.<den>@MEMO@<node> > Have I misunderstood? Can you have both these attributes types defined > for a single subscriber? Yes. The whole point of the PR_ATTRIBUTES qualifier value is so that you can use the various DDS lookup options in MRMEMO and still coexist with either MR/S or MR/P. You can go on using the SNADS attributes for other things for ever if you like, it doesn't really matter. Oh, and make sure you're using Address Translation, not DDS validation. cheers, Stefan |
