Hi, if a MEMO user gets a message with too a long sender address, he is not able to reply. It seems that the MRMEMO gateway truncates the sender address at MEMO line length (gateway parameter) characters. This problem turned up since the customer operates MRX and interchanges mail messages with me. With all these X.400 attributes the sender address becomes *very* long, at least compared with DGN.DEN addresses. Is this observation right? Is it a bug or a feature? Is it ok to set the MEMO line length parameter to an arbitrary high number? Or what shall the customer do? Thanks in advance, mr

Hi Michael, Older versions of MEMO (I think pre 3.1) truncated the sender address to 42 characters. Current versions should be able to cope with longer addresses, although I don't know the exact limit. The sender's address should not in any way be affected by the MRMEMO line length switch. cheers, Stefan |
