131.0. "DL TEXT for incoming messages" by KETJE::VANHOOSTE (Guide to Shadowland) Wed Mar 25 1992 11:12

The same customer as in the previous topic, is wondering whether he can
get rid of the DL for mail flowing from MEMO to MR in the text of the message.

The reason is : he wants to channel incoming memo mail through MR towards a
telex / fax gateway (DISTEL-MR). And he doesn't want MEMO DL in the text of the
telexed/faxed message ...

BTW: I' ve already been loking at MRXLATE, so don't bother mentioning it ...

Not as far as I know. The text is put there by MEMO, and there is
certainly nothing in the comms protocol to disable it. It might be
worth it to ask Verimation if the DL can be disabled by the MEMO System
    Mgr.

    Well,

The text is put there by MEMO, as it uses this for routing it's
    messages internally.
So it can't be removed by MEMO as MEMO wouldn't know anymore where to
    send things to.

So it WOULD be safe to put an option in the gateway to remove it.

Ok, you'll be meddling with the content of a message, but you already
do that (for the MSGID) in messages to MEMO and no one seems to
    complain...

    Hi Marc,

I repeat the statement: there are severe doubts that there will ever be
another MRMEMO version. If there is one, your requirement will be
valued against all others, and I can not guarantee that it will go into
    the prioritized list.

There is one simple *and* quick solution. Have your customer come up
with the consultancy fee to fix it directly for him.

    cheers,
