117.0. "Network object unknown" by OSLACT::TORKILD_P (___m_{}_m___) Mon Feb 17 1992 20:48

    Hi,

    I'm testing out MR/MEMO on an internal system, but I'm having trouble
    starting the gateway. First of all, my SNA gateway is a DEMSA, this IS
    supported also? Or do I have to run VMS/SNA?

    Here's the MR/MEMO char's:

            MRMEMO1 summary as of 1992-02-17 20:39:08

    Server Identification:
      Node name:               DECWAY
      Mailbox name:            MEMO
      Message Router Password: ****
    SNA Session Identification:
      Gateway node:            DECRT1
      Access name:             SNADS
      Circuit name:
      Session address:         0
      Application name:
      Logon mode entry:

    The NCP object:

    Object Volatile Summary as of 17-FEB-1992 20:42:06

       Object   Number  File/PID                   User Id
      MRMEMO1        0

    and the message I keep getting when starting the MR/MEMO gateway:

    %MRMEMO-I-STARTING, status from server process creation is:
    %MRMEMO-W-NOSERVER, the target server is not accessible
    -SYSTEM-F-NOSUCHOBJ, network object is unknown at remote node

    What am I missing here?

    At last; the SNANCP settings on the (DECRT1) gateway:

    Access name = SNADS

    PU                       = SNA-1
    LU list                  = 2
    Application              = TCITMMRG

    Thanks for any help,
    Torkild
    (Novice IBM and MR/MEMO user!)

    Hello Torkild,

    check the NCP object TASK. I believe that this task is missing, you
    need it for starting and stopping the server.

    Regards,
	Michael

    Thanks, Michael!

    It brought the server up!
