104.1 | Needs testing | STKOFF::SPERSSON | Pas de probleme | Tue Oct 01 1991 12:42 | 20 |

Rainer,
After reading the referred note it's obvious that this need to be
tested. The note in question does not mention the version compatibility
of MRIF. Do you know anything about that? I think MRIF and the
unofficial DDS API are the main possible gotchas here. Is there an
official statement on the APIs?
I can foresee a pain in the neck if I tried to install all these
MR/MRX/DECnet versions in our local environment. If you want a fast
answer, the best thing would be if someone could find an environment
somewhere (on the Easynet) where they are already installed. It should
be fairly easy to install MRMEMO in this environment and at least get a
quick indication of whether we can expect MRMEMO to work under DECnet
extensions or not.
Fair enough?

104.2 | Should interwork | MUDIS3::RROSENBERGER | Rainer Rosenberger @MFR, PZ-SOGY | Tue Oct 08 1991 16:19 | 12 |
| Hello Stefan,
I guess that you are right. MRIF V3.1 applications should run without
any changes with MR V3.2. I've tested MRMEMO with MAILBUS *.2 FT 1. But
thie first baselevel of MRX did not require DECnet-extension. MRMEMO
does not talk to MRX directly so there shouldn't be any problems. MRX
requires the DECnet-Extension only because it's based on the new OSI
tower (new versions of PSI, VOTS and OSAK).
Regards,
Rainer

104.3 | Beware | KETJE::VANHOOSTE | Guide to Shadowland | Wed Nov 06 1991 17:27 | 6 |
| That there is a bug in the SDC kit of MR V3.2 (or rather in the MRIF library).
Non-receipt notifications are refused by the TS.
See the MAILBUS V3.2 FT notesfile.

Hi Marc,
Thanks for the warning. Fortunately MRMEMO does not generate
non-receipt notifications, only receipt-, delivery- and non-delivery.
cheers,
Stefan
