35.0. "Config Questions" by BER::RAMM (Michael Ramm, SWAS BZ Berlin, DTN 859-3225) Wed May 23 1990 13:10

Hi,

at our customer's site we have the following configuration:

ALL-IN-1 and MR with DDS on VAX 1 ---+
+--- ALL-IN-1 and MR with DDS on VAX 2
MR with DDS and MRMEMO on VAX 3 ---+
                    |
                   MEMO on IBM

Within MEMO, the ALL-IN-1 users on VAX 1 are in DGN ABC, the ALL-IN-1 users on
VAX 2 in DGN XYZ (customer's requirement). How to set up MR, DDS MRMEMO etc.?

We did the following:

o Set up two MRMEMO servers on VAX 3, one with prefix ABC and MR mailbox MEMO1
(SNA session 1), the other one with prefix XYZ and MR mailbox MEMO2 (SNA
session 2). MEMO to MR recipient DDS validation enabled.

o Within DDS, the ALL-IN-1 users on VAX 1 have the SNlocation ABC, the ALL-IN-1
   users on VAX 2 XYZ.

o On VAX 1, MR mailbox MEMO has /REPLACE="MEMO1@VAX3".

o On VAX 2, MR mailbox MEMO has /REPLACE="MEMO2@VAX3".

It seems to work. Question:

Is this configuration setup correctly? OR IS THERE ANOTHER, "RECOMMENDED" WAY?

Thanks & Regards,
-mr

MRMEMO is designed to treat the whole 'MR world' as one MEMO group
    (i.e. the prefix).

When a MEMO system want's to use several DGNs to access the MR world,
you need one MRMEMO server for each group (as you have set it up).

I can't think of any better way to set it up than what you have done.
    It looks good.
