Hello, Philips in Austria is thinking of buying VAX MR-gateway to MEMO and we are discussing a test installation. We want the customer to pay for the test installation and refund it if he buys. As I never installed/implemented MR-Memo before, could someone give me a clue on how much time we would need for planning, evaluation, installation, implementation of the Gateway, based on the assumption that Message Router is already installed on the VAX. How much work would it be on the MEMO System? Thank you for any help Kind regards Helene

Hello Helene, I've been involved in several MR/MEMO installations on the VAX side. The first one I did (with hardly any MR knowledge..), only took about 2 hours to get going with all parameters etc. This on the VAX side. Note that if you use DDS + VAXmail, not everything is in the manual, see this notes conf. Otherwise the installation even with DDS is very straighforward. Reserving one day to set up, test and demonstrate should be more than enough if you know your Message Router well and know how to define IBM Gateway access names. Here in Finland, the IBM side is handled by the company selling MEMO. The guys know whet they are doing, the only problem we've ever had are : logon mode tables not defined or incorrect several MEMO gateways somehow competing for the link this causing failures...
