Hello, may be that the answers for my questions can be found in the product requirements of the MEMO MAILgate version, but I've not the time to check it. I've heard that there is a PC version of MEMO. My questions: 1. Can anybody give a brief description of PC MEMO? 2. How does PC MEMO communicate with MEMO (similar CARDINAL??)? 3. Can PC MEMO users exchange 'binary' data ? 4. Can MEMO store 'binary' documents on the host? 5. Will a future version of our MAILgate support 'binary' data? Thanks in advance, Rainer

Rainer, Sorry for the late answer... 1. MEMO-PC 2. MEMO-PC communication o Yes it is very similar CARDINAL. You must have a MEMO account. You can send you localy created mail to the MEMO system or fetch them and read them localy on the PC. 3. Binary data o No. But they use a system of a converter program in both direction. 4. Store binary documents o No. 5. Plans for support of binary data. o Yes they plan to support this in the next MEMO version. This will be version 3.1 with planed FCS 'spring of 1990'. They will not have support for this in the VAX/GWY in spring. We also have to change the MRMEMO com.spec. I can't give you any dates today. Jan Plars |
