To make adressing between ALL-IN-1 and MEMO easier the IBM and DEC user can be stored in the DDS database (Distributed Directory Service). Then the MEMO MAILGATE validates the recipient and authorized the sender to forward the mails. Up to now the IBM user adresses had to be stored and modified in DDS manually. Just for key account customers with many user the update of the database needed a lot of time as a high number of adresses changes constantly. Out of this reason an automatic DDS Synchronization became necessary. With the development of the DDS Synchronization V1.0 Tool is the periodical update of the stored DDS adresses possible, e.g. once a week a list of IBM user will be created. Because of this list the new or changed MEMO adresses become registered in DDS and invalid user adresses become deleted. In exchange an updated DDS list of the ALL-IN-1 user will be forwarded to the MEMO database. Since August 25, 1989 the DDS Synchronization V1.0 is available in the German ASSET Library. It is planned that the PASS shall be available in the European Library, too. If you like to exchange your experience with the use of the DDS Synchronization V1.0, I suggest to use this topic ! Best regards, Frank

10.2 | Translation of characters like  | STKHLM::SALGO | Magnus Slg,SWAS Telecom,Sweden | Fri Sep 15 1989 20:41 | 12 |
I heard rumours about how you handle . The problem is that if you use the MRX gateway with your mailbus then you have to have a valid X.400 O/R name in the DDS. A valid O/R name is in the 1984 CCITT recommendation a user with the letters A-Z (some others characters are optional in the 1988) therefore if you are going to load a MEMO user with other characters than A-Z you have to do a translation. In sweden with use and the normal translation is aao is it possible to get that done ? Regards Magnus Slg SWAS Telecom | |||||

RE.0 This tool looks very nice. It should certainly go into ASSETS. Perhaps we could set something up with the VBO IBM so that we could get a feeling for it ? Marc VH. |
