41.0. "PC migration" by VAXUUM::KEEFE () Thu Apr 04 1996 11:54

What are people supposed to be using for a terminal emulator on
Windows 95 -- eXcursion, or the PathWorks VT320 emulator? Both are
    installed.

I've seen people stumbling around in eXcursion (damn < > keys don't
work, etc), and in many PCs running Windows 3.1, the VT320 emulator in
the PathWorks Windows Applications folder doesn't work at all because
    the driver is old.

The 95 Pathworks VT320 allows you to log in to more than one session, so
you can access different machines at the same time.

In general, who's supposed to disseminate info regarding the
particulars of migrating from workstations to PCs?

According to a copy of a slide given at a recent EISE Expo, there is a notes
conference discussing this stuff. I haven't added this note to my list, but I
guess I will now. The path is: VAXUUM::SES-PC-COMPUTING

    Hi Pilar,

>>who's going to make sure we all have PC's that are capable of running
>>Windows 95 and all the other stuff?

    The questions might be:

Who *doesn't* have a PC (386 or 486 running at 33 mhz or better)?

Who doesn't have a PC capable or running Win95 (the factors here
would seem to be memory and disk space)?

If you do not have a PC or sufficient memory (16meg would be the
recommendation I believe) let your CC manager know *today*! Capital
equipment planning is happening as we speak.

That out of the way, I assume by "all the other stuff" you mean
terminal emulators, notes client, web browser, etc?
