31.0. "Project Management Forecasting Tool" by TNPUBS::PHALEN () Mon Dec 11 1995 15:27

11 December 1995

Dear SES colleagues:

Please use this base note to post your comments, queries, and suggestions
concerning the Project Management Forecasting Tool that is being
introduced to the Capability/Capacity Centers over the next few weeks.

WHAT IS THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT FORECASTING TOOL?

The Project Management Forecasting Tool allows a project manager to
forecast and track information about individual SES projects. It is
based on Excel and it consists of

      *	A template for entering data.

      *	A set of reports that can be generated from the data in
	the template. These reports can be rolled up to reports used by
        SES Staff.

LOCATION OF THE TOOL

Within the next week the Project Management Forecasting Tool will be placed in
THEWIZ.  Here are pointers to:

      *	The template for the Project Managment Forecasting Tool

	   THEWIZ::OPT002:[WORKBENCH.PROJECT_MGT]PMFTEMP1.EXE

      *	The user guide

   	   THEWIZ::OPT002:[WORKBENCH.PROJECT_MGT]PMFTGID1.EXE

HISTORY

from the various CCCs to develop a project management tool. The team
is led by John Piantedosi and includes Sylvia Milanese, Alice Phalen,

                        drive where you want to create this directory.

                     4. Look at the box in the lower left corner of the
                        screen to verify that the selected Disk Drive has at
                        least 4,000 kb free disk space.

		     5. Pull down the File menu and select Create Directory.

                     6. Type in the directory name, pmftool.
                        (The user guide refers to the directory by that name.)
